Problems facing the Triumph underwear company Triumph is an international manufacturer of underwear. It was launched in Germany since 1886 and now it has expanded its business in 120 countries around the world include Malaysia. Triumph has introduced seven series of underwear which are maximize, modern shapes, t-shirt bra, Eco chic, premium collection, miss Triumph and Triaction. Today, women purchase bra not only because they need it, but is to explore their sensuality. It is all about color, fashion and image. The foundation of an outfit and makes a big difference in how a women looks. In order to increase the sales of Triumph and compete against competitor, a better understanding of consumers needs and wants and their satisfaction level about Triumph bra. Problem definition is defining and developing a decision statement and the steps that involved in translating it into more precise research terminology which include a set of research objectives. Triumph mission is to become the market leader in the industry which stated as We Are In To Win. In order to achieve high profitability, Triumph engaged in better understanding of consumers needs and wishes. The features of Triumph bra provided will directly link to customer satisfaction level. It can transform a customer either to become a loyalty customer or dissatisfied customers. Objective and Hypothesis The questionnaire we designed was mainly concern about the identification of satisfaction level of consumers toward Triumph bra and understanding the significant of price, quality, and other features of Triumph. The research objective is the main goal to be achieved by conducting research projects, the main objectives: In order to understand the various needs of consumers. It will be conducted among students, office ladies and housewives where their age range start from below 20 years old, 21 to 30 years old and 31 to 40 years old. 1. Exploratory Research We decided to use exploratory research as our beginning stages to conduct our research project. The reason to conduct this research is because we do not have the prior knowledge about the problem situation of Triumph. It can help us to explore the nature of problem of Triumph and gain insight of solving the problem. Through the exploratory research, we can formulate and define the problem more precisely. Thus, it also helps us to gain the information about the purchase and consumption behavior of Triumph users. 2. Descriptive Research We use descriptive research to gain insight of the target market characteristic. First, we would want to know the respondent background such as their age and occupation. Second, we want to identify the consumers buying behavior and their consumption pattern toward Triumph bra. Third, we would want to figure out the awareness of Triumph bra. Thus, we had distributed the survey questionnaire to 100 respondents from various urban areas which include Wangsa Maju, Genting Klang and Sri Rampai. Survey Questionnaire Our questionnaire consists of 10 questions. For question 1 and 2, we will use ratio scale to classify the respondents frequency and money spends on purchasing a bra. From question 3 to 6, we will use the interval scale to identify the possible competitors brands, awareness of Triumph bra, the sources of respondents get to know about Triumph and the location of selling Triumph. Whereas, from question 7 to 9, we will use ordinal scale to indicate the relative extent of satisfaction, preferences and the concern factors of Triumph users. Lastly, question 10, we use nominal scale to determine the possibility of improvement needed to carry out by Triumph. (Refer to appendix) Sampling A sampling frame is a representative of the element of the target population. Everything Hidden Questions that seem to have only one answer Things hidden can be known by following clues. We know in practice how this is done and I have explained in some detail what goes on in this rather complicated but interesting process (see for example Essay 2). But what about things not hidden. Can things not hidden be known? My question here is not how things not hidden can be known, but merely whether they can be known. If I ask how things not hidden can be known I will receive diferent answers. For example some wil say things not hidden are known by the senses. The senses reveal to us what these things are; that's why they are not hidden. But others will say no; the senses do not reveal; they hide, they deceive. The mind reveals; the mind lets us know what the real things are; things that are not hidden are known directly by the mind. There are many answers to the question how things not hidden can be known, but this is not the question I am asking. The question I am asking is whether things not hidden can be known. With the question how things not hidden can be known there are many answers. But it is diferent with the question whether things not hidden can be known. With this question there seems to be only one answer. Things not hidden, of course they can be known—this I think is what most people wil say. They may not agree among themselves how things not hidden can be known but they wil agree things not hidden can be known. If things not hidden cannot be known what can be known? To the question whether things not hidden can be known there is only one answer. Or so it seems. There is another question which seems to have only one answer: Is there anything not hidden? To this question the only answer seems to be of course there are things not hidden. We may disagree as to what these things are and how they are known, but it seems there must be some things that are not hidden. It is not possible that there is nothing not hidden. If there is nothing not hidden it means everything is hidden. How is it possible that everything is hidden? If everything is hidden how can we know anything?

The character of Claudius

The character of Claudius can be recognized as the major antagonist in the play. Traits such as being cleverly evil, lustful, and conniving were the factors that won him the crown as the King of Denmark.As a king, Claudius focused on protecting his throne from being relinquished from him. He was a smooth talker and had the ability to manipulate others as a faà §ade of his corrupt nature as a politician.There is great question when it comes for his love for Gertrude as it is seen to be a political move to gain power. Although, even if he did remotely cared about Gertrude, he still allowed her to drink from the poisonous goblet knowing that she would die so he would not be implicated in an attempted murder (Hylton 2000, Act V). His craftiness and love for power prevented him from showing that he sincerely cared for the people around him.The random times that he had shown genuine emotions for other people than himself was when Polonius died and the kindness he had shown for Ophelia. He could not bring himself to kill Hamlet himself because of his feelings for Gertrude. He cannot resist worldly desires and choose them over his soul. He was not a monster with absolutely no moral fiber instead he was morally weak and unable to choose good over evil.Q)2 Gertrude, Hamlet’s mother was a beautiful queen of Denmark who remarried her late husband’s brother Claudius shortly after her husband’s murder. There are significant questions to her character in terms of the purity of her intentions in remarrying as well as her involvement in Claudius’ murder of the king.She was a woman with much love for her status in society, much like her new husband, and for affection and sexual attention. Hamlet was disgusted with her inability to exist without a man by her side and how she uses them for her own self-preservation and called his mother frail (Hylton 2000, Act I).Hamlet was greatly distraught with how morally frail his mother was and was even in agony because of it. He was affected by his mother’s lack of morality and suffered because of it. There was nothing exaggerated with how Hamlet felt about his mother. It would be disheartening for anyone who would see his mother be so sickening, what more to see a queen of a nation act in such a manner.He was depressed because he had deep and genuine affections for his parents. He felt significantly associated to his mother because they were related and her corruption is directly his corruptions as well as they are family. He felt defiled by his mother’s inability to uphold moral strength that he himself exhibited such weakness in his own relationship with Ophelia. Hamlet’s focus on his mother’s morality was aligned with a son’s nature that cared about his mother’s wellbeing.Q3) There were so many similarities in the character of Hamlet and Laertes as men, although Hamlet holds some qualities that make him somewhat better than Laertes.   They we re both impulsive at different degrees when they are angered. They both sought revenge for revenge for the death of their fathers.Laertes wanted to kill Claudius when he suspected him for killing his father, Polonius (Hylton 2000, Act IV).   However, Hamlet could not bring himself to kill Claudius to avenge his father without evidence sufficient for his intellect. He was always drawn to answering philosophical and difficult questions.   He contemplated about a lot of things before acting on them while Laertes was impulsive and quick to act.Although, there had been times when both acted spontaneously because of rage, like when Hamlet killed Polonius instead of Claudius. Both men shared great love for their families and exhibited domineering qualities in the women in their clans. Laertes warned Ophelia about Hamlet’s intentions and Hamlet was troubled by his mother’s marriage. Cartel and E-books Essay

The article I selected concerns the upcoming antitrust trial of Apple for colluding with publishers to raise the price of e-books (Chen & Bosman, 2013). Why was the firm investigated for antitrust behavior? Apple was investigated, as well as several publishing companies for conspiring to keep e-book prices high. Amazon is the biggest retailer of e-books, and the publishing business has been thrown into chaos by the popularity of e-books. Publishing companies used the old publishing model of selling e-books like print books where the publisher sells the book to the retailer, like Amazon or Apple, at about half the price of the cover price and the retailer can sell the book at whatever price it chooses. (Chen & Bosman, 2013) Apple entered into contracts with publishers that use an â€Å"agency model† to price e-books. This meant that publishers would set the price of e-books, and the retailer would get 30% of the sale price as profit. Apple also stipulated that publishers could not set a price lower than the price in Apple’s e-book store. (Chen & Bosman, 2013) This action by Apple was investigated because the primary purpose of these contracts was to keep the e-book prices higher, and to reduce competition between booksellers. Amazon, the giant in the market, would not be able to compete on price, and e-books would cost consumers more. Identify some of the costs (pecuniary and nonpecuniary) associated with the antitrust behavior (firms having power in the market). Additionally, note the specific antitrust act (Sherman Act, Clayton Act, etc.) under which the violation was investigated. The pecuniary cost of the actions of Apple is that consumers will pay more money for books, and Apple, as well as other book sellers, will not have to compete on price with Amazon who dominates the market. This will cost Amazon, and booksellers and publishers may make more money at the expense of consumers. The non-pecuniary cost will be that books will not be as available at low prices to consumers who want them, but cannot afford the price. Price fixing is a violation of section 2 of the Clayton Act of 1914. This act prohibits price discrimination that is not based on cost differences that reduces competition. (McConnell, Brue, & Flynn, 2012)  Given your research and findings, are monopolies and oligopolies (firms demonstrating power) always bad for society? Be sure to provide real world examples of where this may be the case to strengthen your position. Provide at least one example of a case where having a monopoly or oligopoly may actually benefit the society. According to my research in this case, Amazon’s demonstration of oligopoly power is good for society because e-book prices are lower when Amazon tries to block other competitors from entering the e-book market, and more e-books are then available to the public. This is a good real-world example of the positive influence that an oligopoly can have for society, and an example of how regulation is needed, and anti-trust laws, when oligopolies use collusion to compete instead of letting the free-market operate.
